Starting a coaching business has been in the back of my mind for the last few years. I decided to wait until I retired as a professional cyclist so I know that I can give my athletes 100% of my time and energy. I love helping and working with people to reach their full potential. It's both exciting and motivating for me to see my athletes succeed in a sport that I love.
I’ve had many coaches in my career from all different nationalities and different backgrounds. I’m grateful for everything I have learned from them and how they mentored me to be a better athlete on and off the bike. I now want to share my knowledge and experience to help others of all different ages and abilities to achieve their goals in cycling whether that is improving fitness, power numbers or winning a race!
I've used Training Peaks throughout my whole career and I think it's the perfect platform for the coach and athlete. Over the years I've learnt all about data analysis and how to read power files. I've recently furthered my knowledge with the Training Peaks University courses and become a level one accredited coach.
I will provide detailed training sessions that build you up to perform at your best. With the easy to read format you will understand exactly what you need to do.
You can post comments on the session after it's been completed to give me more than just the numbers. I'll provide feedback on key session's so you can see what you did well and what you need to do better next time.
No two athletes are the same, that's why I believe customisation is key. I want to learn about your strengths and weakness to create the best plan for you to improve and hit targets.
Our one on one set up call will be especially important for this, as well as supplying previous data for me to go through. I want understand your physiology and also you get to know you as a person so we can hit the ground running.
Feedback between the athlete and coach is a valuable tool from both sides. I want to know from you how your key sessions go as sometimes there's a lot more to it than just the numbers. I can provide you with feedback and tips on what went well and what can be improved on.
This will be key to making sure we're on the same page. I want you to understand why you're doing specific sessions and intervals so you trust in the process and dig that little bit deeper.
In 2019 I recovered from RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) after under fuelling on and off the bike for 6 years. I worked with a top Sports Nutritionist and learnt how to fuel properly and recover my menstrual cycle. This then prompted me to do four different Certificates in Nutrition in 2020 where I furthered my knowledge.
I'm confident in my learnings and study to give Nutrition and fuelling guidance to maximise your performance and recovery.
Goals are a really important as they help us measure progress towards success. I like to use a combination of short term and long term goals to keep you accountable and motivated.
We will discuss and identify your short/long term goals during our first one-on-one session . We will work towards ticking these off along the way.
With my years of racing experience on the road at a World Tour level I have a wide knowledge base on race tactics over varying courses.
I will work with you to come up with a race plan and tactics that suit your strengths to give you the best chance possible and make the most of all the hard work. Having confidence in a good race plan will set you up to be able to leave it all out there.
